Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE)

The UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) has been a significant entrance test of the students willing to obtain higher technical education in Uttar Pradesh over the years. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical university (AKTU), Lucknow administered the exam. However, as of the academic year 2022-23 this exam has been scrapped and instead national level exams are being conducted. This move is a considerable game changer not only among students but also in the overall technical education scenario.

Which exams have replaced UPSEE now?

Previously, UPSEE was applicable in obtaining admissions to most undergraduate programs such as B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Pharm. Today the entrance into those courses occurs by means of the following national examinations:

  • B.Tech: JEE Main
  • B.Arch: NATA
  • B.Pharm, B.Des, B.Tech (Biotech/Agriculture): CUET-UG

This has now changed and AKTU does not have any entrance examination of its own and all the entrance is done on the basis of marks obtained in national level entrance exam and this is arranged by UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling).
