About Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination [UPSEE]
UPSEE stands for Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination. It is a state-level entrance examination conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Uttar Pradesh. UPSEE is conducted for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, management, pharmacy, architecture, and other fields offered by colleges and universities in Uttar Pradesh.
The exam is open to both residents of Uttar Pradesh and candidates from other states. UPSEE is usually held once a year, and the application process, exam date, and other details are announced by the university on their official website.
The UPSEE exam consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper-based). The eligibility criteria for UPCET may vary slightly depending on the course you are applying for. Here are the general eligibility requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate courses through UPCET:
Undergraduate Courses (B.Tech/B.Pharm/B.Arch/BHMCT/BFAD/BFA/B.Des):
- Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India. NRI candidates and foreign nationals may also apply for certain seats reserved for them.
- Age Limit: There is no age limit to apply for most undergraduate courses. However, for admission to the first year of B.Arch., the candidate must have completed 17 years of age as of December 31 of the admission year.
- Educational Qualifications:
- B.Tech/B.Pharm: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject.
- B.Arch: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and obtained at least 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
- BHMCT/BFAD/BFA/B.Des: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in any discipline.
(Postgraduate Courses (MBA/MCA/M.Tech/M.Pharm):
- Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India. NRI candidates and foreign nationals may also apply for certain seats reserved for them.
- Age Limit: There is no age limit for postgraduate courses.
- Educational Qualifications:
- MBA: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration from a recognized institution.
- MCA: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration with Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level or at the graduate level.
- M.Tech: Candidates must have a B.Tech/B.E. degree or its equivalent in the relevant field.
- M.Pharm: Candidates must have a B.Pharm degree or its equivalent.
UPSEE Academic Details

1. Registration: Visit the official website of AKTU or the UPCET portal and look for the registration link. Click on “New Registration” or a similar option and provide the required details such as name, email address, mobile number, etc. After entering the details, submit the form to receive your registration credentials.
2. Fill in Personal Details: Login to the portal using the registration credentials you received. Fill in personal information such as your name, date of birth, gender, category, nationality, etc. Make sure to enter the information correctly and double-check for any errors.
3. Academic Details: Enter your academic details, including your qualifying examination details, board/university name, year of passing, percentage/CGPA obtained, etc. Provide accurate information regarding your educational background.
4. Upload Documents: You will be required to upload scanned copies of your recent photograph and signature as per the specified dimensions and file formats. Make sure the scanned copies meet the specified requirements to avoid any issues during the application process.
5. Course Selection: Select the course(s) you wish to apply for through UPCET. Choose the appropriate courses and ensure they align with your eligibility and interests.
